My August 27th blog entitled A TRAGEDY REMINDS ME OF IMPORTANT SPIRITUAL TRUTH spoke about keeping short accounts with God and people. A reader asked me what that meant? It means to make a practise of quickly confessing our sins to God and to people we have hurt or sin against, and reconcile quickly for we do not know what tomorrow brings.
It is important to let people close to us know that we love them. So often things go unsaid.
A sad example of this was the rift between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. At one time they were inseparably close friends. After the Beatles broke up, John Lennon was particularly cruel toward his old friend Paul. I understand they never really made up. And then it was too late. Suddenly John Lennon was murdered in 1980 without things being reconciled between them. At some point in Paul McCartney's grief journey he wrote a song for John Lennon called Here Today. Below is an amateur video of Paul trying to play it at a concert. He started to cry and had time getting through the song. Go to this link below and then come back to this blog.

What can we learn from this? Always be quick to reconcile with those to whom you need to forgive or be forgiven by. Below is a rendition the way it is supposed to be.
